First Biodegradable Car by Kenneth Cobonpue

Living in green style was something worth having but riding in style and keeping a sustainable living is what everybody would aspire. If you have been amazed of the beautiful furniture designed by Kenneth Cobonpue, this time, he takes a next greater level  by joining forces with Albrecht Birkner, making the world’s first roadster made from bamboo and rattan. Look at this first biodegradable car.

The Phoenix is a superlight roadster built from rapidly biodegradable  bamboo and rattan in just a span of ten (10) days, along with steel and nylon. The designs principles was borrowed from Mother Nature herself and the exterior structure was built like a leaf and the interior is a single woven surface that forms the dashboard, floor and seats. This project attempts to unveil the future of green vehicles using woven skins from organic fibers mated to composite materials and powered by green technology,” says Mr. Cobonpue in his recent interview.

Because this car is biodegradable, it will not create any unnecessary waste when you don’t need it anymore. The design was estimated to last up to five years in industrialized countries and even more for others.

Something , every Filipino would be proud of.
