How to achieve 10,000 steps everyday? Sounds, really hard to do but study shows that doing 10,000 steps or approximately 5 miles walk can help you live healthier but of course this includes a good healthy diet. It can significantly help you improve your health and staying active means less health risk.
Walking is a great form of exercise, many says that it is much effective than running, it can help you prevent many diseases such a lower risk on heart diseases, high blood pressure and I have recently read that it can also prevent Alzheimer disease. Remember that inactivity or staying in just one place for such a longer period of time can increase the risk of cardiovascular diseases.
Now, here’s my dilemma and I guess many working moms would agree with me. Having a full time job and being a mom to your kids seems an endless work and walking might be so hard to achieve and 10,000 steps would be far from reality. So, how can we really achieve this 10,000 steps everyday?

2. Set a goal, start low and move forward
Set your goals! 10,000 must seem hard but if we set our heart on it, all goals can be achieved. You can start low and gradually increase our pace. When we feel the hang of it, we can certainly see that we can achieve those numbers. Don’t falter, just keep moving on. Remember that even though we were not able to get the 10,000 a day, walking can bring many health benefits that can help us counter the risk of heart diseases, stroke and diabetes. Set your goal, have a notebook or put on your memo note your achievements for the day so you can see your progress.
3. Adjust your schedule, Walk rather than ride
Adjust your schedule! Walk up early and do your usual mommy duties, you can walk for atleast 15 minutes or more on your neighborhood while the children are still sleeping. When going to work, you can walk on a certain point and ride from there. If you have your own car and going to the grocery store, you can park a mile away from the grocery store and start walking from there.
4. Walk inside the office
Yes, I know that it’s hard to achieve especially if your work requires you to be in front of your desk or computer for a long period of time but walking trough the wash room, to the pantry is not prohibited. Take that walk since your body needs moving.
If you walk on a small building, you can use the stairways rather than the elevator.
