Luntiang Lunes – Leafy Monday

Luntiang Lunes or Leafy Monday was encouraged over the television by a certain doctor which I forgot the name, sorry my memory is not going well this day but the idea of eating vegetables makes a big impression over me that’s why I’m also sharing this to all my fellow eco-moms. This program is all over the states and doing this will really be a great help for everyone.

Vegetables are great for our body and eating nutritious vegetable just even for a day in a week could mean a lot in our diet. Cut down your meat, prepare green leafy vegetables for your family. One day will soon be twice a week and you will find yourself eating vegetables all week long.

Let us spread the awareness of eating vegetables. It’s good for our health and will definitely be a great savings on our monthly spending. Finding homegrown vegetables in your market is good because it cost more cheaper rather than those that came from other towns especially with those that needs long travelling.

Although Baguio is the one known to produce vegetables, the one that comes from there are a little bit pricey especially the fact that farmers have suffered great loss over the Habagat (rains and floods) that affects them.

My family and I love eating vegetables because it is very easy to prepare and budget friendly and the fact that it contains lots of vitamins that can help our body and over-all health.  Although, i always prefer something organic, it can be hard to find in our place though.

  1. This is a nice program. It encourages us to eat greens. Sadly, I’m quite a picker but I do eat all the veggies you posted above and I love kangkong and ampalaya. I do not like foods with slimy sauce like okra and saluyot. Ugh, the lettuce leaves makes me crave for some salad right now.

  2. I’m a big greenie here! I eat my veggies hehehe. You’re in my Top 10 Inlfluential List, Ria! Check out what I wrote. 🙂
