Malunggay also known scientifically as Moringa oleifera can be categorized as one of the most useful plant or vegetable. Malunggay is a rich source of calcium, phosphorus, iron and vitamins “A”, “B”, and “C”. Study shows that instead of dietary calcium, malunggay has the twice benefits to fight high blood pressure and promotes good sleep. Green as it is , truly deserving to be called as miracle tree.
The leaves , fresh or dried had many uses and can be made into different products that will surely be a great beneficial for a good healthy lifestyle. It is also purgative and anti-fungal purposes and even the malunggay oil is now being tested and proved to be a biofuel source.
Malunggay leaves can also be a good source of calcium for babies that is why pregnant and nursing mothers are advised to eat them. There is no bad effects that have been found on malunggay leaves and it is considered as organic and safe with many healthy benefits which made many companies created products with moringa on it, popular one are tea, coffee, bread, lotions, body butter, soap and essential body oils, shampoos and other hair products.
Food with malunggay on it is one of my favorite dish, monggo with malunggay, tinola, pancit molo, ginataang malunggay and squash with malunggay is definitely the best. There are malunggay ice cream, malunggay cakes and pandesal with malunggay and malunggay veggies which is a good source of vitamins.
